Arches are curved structures that are capable of spanning a space while supporting significant weight.
Pine's Stone Company, Inc. can match any type of stone that can be used for the following six types of arches:

• Roman - strong, rounded arch that is in the form of a semi-circle.
• Segmental - arch that is in the form of a partial curve like an eyebrow over a door or window.
• Tudor - known as a "flattened" Gothic arch that has a point in the center (crown). Its span is

  • much wider than the Gothic style.
• Flat - known as a jack or straight arch that extends across an opening with no curvature that

  • creates a horizontal emphasis.
• Gothic - has a narrow, pointed opening that was widely used in cathedrals during the Middle

  • Ages.
• Horseshoe - extends beyond a semi-circle where the top is rounded and curves slightly before

  • descending.
